Sometimes
remedial ties are required in walls of very soft or perforated materials
such as hollow bricks or blocks or No Fines concrete. In this case remedial
wall tying cannot be achieved with mechanical expansion systems or even
with conventional resin tie products. REDIFIX engineers have designed and developed a remedial wall tie system, ideal for the repair of cavity walls, where the wall materials preclude the use of mechanical fixings. RESIFAST is fabricated from two nylon screens, adhered to a central tubular plastic body. The inner screen is provided with a formed conical end, to contain the resin and to facilitate entry into the 14mm drilled hole.A drip ring is located on the tubular section. BRC3 Resin is used to set an M5 threaded rod, which gives tensile and compressive strength to the system.A nut on the rod prevents excessive leakage of resin into the central tube, from the outer leaf screen. RESIN CURE TIMES 38 MINUTES AT 25°C 80 MINUTES AT 10°C |

INSTALLATION
PROCEDURE Drill 14mm hole in brickwork, setting depth gauge on drilling machine, to give 75mm hole depth in inner leaf. Blow out inner and outer leaf holes. |
|
INJECT
RESIN Using extended delivery tube (DTE IR/lO Attached to nozzel) apply BRC Resin to inner leaf, slowly withdrawing nozzle until it is clear of inner leaf.Withdraw nozzle completely then insert M5 threaded rod. Inject resin into outer leaf. Seal outer brick with colour matching mortar. |
